Last November, the  Inn at Lynden unveiled its three newly renovated gathering spaces: the Waples Room, the Edson Room, and Rübus. Situated on the Inn’s lower level, Rübus is now the Inn’s largest meeting space, perfect for special events and memory-making of all sorts.

The Inn at Lynden opened in 2015 after Owners Jeff and Deb McClure and Matt and Teri Treat hired RMC Architects to renovate the historic Waples Mercantile Building, previously the Lynden Department Store. The 112-year-old building had been severely damaged during a 2008 fire, and the renovation brought in new infrastructure while restoring much of its historic charm. It makes sense that ten years after this initial renovation, the Rübus space follows suit, highlighting “character-rich details” like “old-growth timber beams, polished concrete floors,” and “a striking central staircase.”

The 4,370-square-foot space is transformable to your needs, is ADA-accessible, and can comfortably host between 50–160 people. It includes a catering preparation area, a service bar, coat storage, and amenities like complimentary ice, tables, chairs, stools, festive dimmable lighting, guest WiFi, and easy access to Inn at Lynden accommodations. Their vendor partners include community-favorite businesses like Crave Catering, Avenue Bread, Graze & Gather for catering and A Lot of Flowers for floral.

If Rübus isn’t quite what you’re looking for, the Inn at Lynden also offers their Waples Room, great for hosting business meetings and presentations, and the smaller Edson Room, perfect for intimate gatherings. 100 5th St., Lynden, 360.746.8597, innatlynden.com
