The Wildflower Spa has fully bloomed on Mount Vernon’s bustling 1st Street after expanding their space and services in 2025. Previously known as Bare Boutique, this spa provides healing experiences in more ways than one.
Master Esthetician and Founder Hana LaMay’s 19-year- and-counting career as an esthetician began in the med spa arena, where she realized she gravitated towards a holistic approach to skincare. She opened Bare Boutique in 2012 as a side business whilst still working at a med spa, offering facial and body waxing.
“My goal was to work for myself and really just to…have a little bit more control and all the things you get with self-employment. I didn’t necessarily intend at that time that it would evolve the way it has,” LaMay recalls.

The Wildflower Spa now offers a diverse menu of “holistic skin, body, and energy wellness therapies,” with head spa and massage therapy being recent additions. There are nine employees and soon-to-be eight providers, including LaMay herself. During their expansion, which began in April 2025 and wrapped up near the end of the year, they gained 1300 square feet, four treatment rooms (including a dedicated head spa room), a laundry and utility room, and the window-lined corner storefront looking into their reception and retail boutique.
“We doubled our square footage, but almost tripled our treatment space,” says LaMay. “It’s been quite a change, it looks and feels like a different space.”

With her background as a medical esthetician, LaMay prioritizes treatments and products with strong clinical backing, but makes sure to avoid a sterilized environment. The atmosphere in The Wildflower is streamlined and calming, allowing clients to relax and embrace their experience.
“Our goal first and foremost is to get to know our clients and get to know what’s important to them … [then] our goal is really to boost the health of the skin,” says LaMay. Rather than attempting unrealistic feats of de-aging, they focus on health and encourage “mindful daily practice” even outside the spa. “Our product selections reflect that. They’re all under what we would call the clean beauty umbrella and really have similar values to us. They treat the skin like an organ, which it is, and with kindness. … We don’t choose products that will sacrifice your wellness for results.”

Their product lines include Le Mieux, IMAGE Skincare, Colorescience, and Face Reality, the last of which is the foundation of Wildflower’s advanced acne treatment services. While many treatments can help with overall skin health, healing advanced acne is best done through both in-office and at-home maintenance, which Wildflower’s skilled providers will help plan and guide you through.
“In keeping with client education, we focus on simplifying home care and skin care routines, which is especially helpful for people who find themselves overwhelmed by the amount of products, ingredients, and information coming at them,” says LaMay. “This means breaking down what types of ingredients/products are important, explaining their specific benefits for the skin, and identifying what is essential to help them reach their goals.”

Between a welcoming environment, providers with different interests and specialties, a focus on education, and affordable pricing, The Wildflower Spa creates an accessible entry point to those looking to reconnect with their wellness. A Swedish massage is only $99, and facials start at just $65.
“Using touch therapy to reconnect with yourself and to feel good, okay, and safe in your body at a time when maybe that’s a little bit more difficult to reconcile—it can be really powerful for people,” says LaMay. 419 S. 1st St., Ste. A, Mount Vernon, 360.419.0777, spawildflower.com
