The Claire Theatre has been a pillar of the performing arts community in Lynden for almost four decades. After its recent remodel, the theatre has absolutely no plans on going anywhere.

Originally named The Queen Juliana Theatre after a queen of the Netherlands, the theatre can seat 160 people and is located in the quaint Dutch Village Mall. Claire vg Thomas established the Lynden Performing Arts Guild with the help of some friends, which was such a smash that the theatre was later named after her in 2001.

Last year, the theatre underwent renovations, including upgrades to their lighting and sound system, new carpet, paint, various repairs, and much more. Casie Burt, the Board Secretary of the theatre, says that people are going to be surprised by how much better the “overall theater experience” is going to be.

The theatre’s neighbors, Elements Hospitality, managed the project and provided supervision, carpentry, and labor. Other local businesses that assisted in the remodel were Cascade Drywall, Lynden Interiors, Liquid Applications, Excel Electrical Contractor, and Westside Building Supply.
