Quantum Health Pilates & Yoga Lounge has a natural way of drawing people in. With its relaxed environment, it offers visitors of every ability level a place to recharge and nurture their health. More than just a fitness studio, Quantum is a one-stop wellness destination, bringing movement, nutrition, and holistic care together under one roof.

“I wanted to create a lifestyle that I could immerse myself in on a daily basis, and that’s what drove this,” says Founder Scott Howe. “The goal is to help people build a foundation of strength and alignment so they can keep doing all the things they love well into their later years.”

Howe, once an athlete, Marine, and coach, never had trouble staying active. But by the age of 31, his life was upended by the sudden onset of rheumatoid arthritis, a debilitating condition that made even simple mobility a struggle. After years of failed treatments, chemo, and steroids, he turned to a different approach centered around diet and exercise. Howe adopted a hyper-focused nutritional regimen and discovered hot yoga, a combination that allowed him to regain strength and relief he hadn’t experienced in years.

Over time that journey grew into a studio of his own, a space for yoga, Pilates, and balanced health practices.

“We opened Quantum to help people feel good and move well,” explains Howe. “For me, it’s about functional movement—being strong and mobile enough to garden, pick up your kids, and stay active in everyday life.”

In recent years, Howe welcomed Krissy Gibson, a professional dancer from Northern California, to the Quantum team. With a lifelong passion for dance, Gibson spent more than two decades living and performing internationally. Her career took her from Japan and Atlantic City to cruise ships, and ultimately to the stages of Las Vegas.

“There’s no better way to see the world,” she adds.

When an injury brought Gibson’s dance career to an unexpected halt, she turned to Pilates as a way to stay strong and also share its benefits with others. After moving to Skagit County to be closer to family, she joined Quantum as an instructor, where her warm, approachable demeanor quickly made her a natural fit. Eventually Gibson became co-owner and has been helping Howe grow and shape the studio.

“What I love most about this place is I get to work out with my best friends, the people I care about the most,” she says. “You’ll never hear me complaining about coming to work.”

Alongside more than 20 instructors, Gibson and Howe offer an extensive lineup of classes at Quantumfrom every style of yoga to strength training and a full spectrum of Pilates Reformer sessions. Each instructor brings their unique styles and expertise, giving members the flexibility to choose high- or low-impact workouts that suit their fitness goals. Beyond classes, Quantum features a café with smoothies and healthy post-workout options. The studio also offers treatment rooms for massage, cosmetic services, IV infusions, and energy work sessions, including Reiki and guided breathwork.

What really sets Quantum apart isn’t just its wide range of services, but the inclusive community it has created. Guests often leave not only with a renewed sense of wellbeing, but also feeling welcomed and supported. Howe and Gibson aim to expand the studio while maintaining the inviting atmosphere it has become known for.

“We want to keep providing a space with no judgment, where everyone feels they belong and are cared for,” emphasizes Gibson. 121 S. Spruce St., Ste. 2, Burlington, 360.230.1349, qhyogalounge.com
