Dreaming of a new outbuilding for your property? Find inspiration in the gorgeous equestrian barns constructed by DC Builders in Snohomish County and throughout the Pacific Northwest.
Stephanie Meyer is an equine veterinarian at Pilchuck Veterinary Hospital. DC Builders constructed this classic gable-style custom horse barn in Snohomish for Meyer and her husband, Derek.
The Meyers’ 36-foot horse barn includes four horse stalls with steel-framed stall fronts from Noble Panels and Dutch door turnouts, an open breezeway, a center aisle, tack room, wash bay, and a 12’ x 24’ workshop. The building is sided in Douglas fir with cedar board and batten on the two gable dormers and on the gable ends. Additional features include a hayloft door and a classic cupola.
Bret Loftis, project manager at DC Builders, said, “We worked with the owners to select the design finishes that make this barn such a favorite. The stain colors we chose really bring out the quality of the wood and make the barn pop. It was also important to them that the roofing for the barn matched their home, so we worked to customize that as well.”
DC Builders also designed paddocks for the horses and worked with the plumber and electrician to select and install fixtures in keeping with the clients’ budget, including a custom wash bay to keep the horses well-groomed.
