ReLaced, located in downtown Bellingham, prioritizes selling new, used, authentic, and well-made shoes to sneakerheads at great prices.
The Shop
This family-run streetwear shoe store, founded and owned by Lidija and Jesse Reading, first opened in March 2024 on Bay Street. In May, the business moved to a place on Holly Street. Helped by their central location and friendly demeanor, more and more people have been discovering ReLaced, and it’s fast becoming a beloved staple of downtown Bellingham.

The Atmosphere
Clean-looking LED light structures emphasize and bounce off the colorful shoes that line the walls top to bottom. In the middle of the store, racks with streetwear of all kinds live together, and graffiti of a street shoe covers the wall behind the counter. The glass counter has shelves of goodies that are all meaningfully placed to look aesthetically pleasing to the consumer. Jesse has spent lots of time lovingly curating each and every display. “When we moved into the new place, I said, ‘I think we need to have glass cases.’ Jesse was so excited, he couldn’t wait to fill them with things,” says Lidija. Many of the goods for sale have been requested by customers, as ReLaced is truly for the people. Not only that, but the urban aesthetic of the store is very intentional, with big-city lovers in mind.

The People
Lidija and Jesse, along with their two sons, work at the store every week. Lots of regular customers come in frequently, with a great mix of new ones as well. Lidija does an excellent job of making every person in the room feel comfortable and important, which is one of the reasons why the store attracts so many people and continues to be so successful. Jesse used to collect deadstock Jordans, with 300 pairs in his possession that he wouldn’t wear. Almost all of the shoes have been sold off of ReLaced’s shelves since, and Jesse is now a firm believer that all shoes, even nice ones, are supposed to be worn.

What You’ll Find
ReLaced sells a wide variety of epic goods, from glasses, stickers, sneakers, and hats, to watches, perfume, cologne, and apparel. Many businesses’ apparel is sold at this store, and ReLaced is a wholesaler of Godspeed, who are particular with their retailers. Around 85% of the store contains Nike, with some Adidas and designer shoes sprinkled throughout. Up to 95% of the shoes that ReLaced is selling have been bought from the community, by people walking into the store with their own sneakers.

Favorites
While it’s hard to choose, some of Lidija’s favorite items they sell are the baby shoes, specifically the baby Jordan retros. This retail establishment is many customers’ favorite in general, as it brings something new to the town. “[This is an] amazing pop culture store,” says a customer shopping at ReLaced. “It’s the variety that Bellingham needs, because there are so many different people.”

Whether you’re someone who has always been into streetwear and shoes, or are just now getting into it, ReLaced is an excellent store to visit. Come see Lidija behind the counter from Mondays through Thursdays, Jesse on Fridays and Saturdays, and their oldest son on Sundays. Their youngest son fills in on Sundays when the oldest can’t, and their daughter-in-law also helps out a lot!
