Fairhaven Mill recently welcomed Philip Fraley as the new general manager. The Mill has been an active, organic mill since 1974, serving businesses throughout the Pacific Northwest.

Fraley has an extensive background in product management with 23 years of experience at Omega Nutrition and, most recently, Birdon America. He has over 25 years of experience running certified organic operations and brings an experienced viewpoint to the team.

Since Fraley has become manager, lots of exciting new developments have been in motion. He released his first new product, Skagit Forge T85 Bread Flour, which has become the mill’s top-selling retail flour of 2026. This new flour is an upgrade from their prior ones, with both robust flavor and whole grain nutrients. It can be purchased at Fairhaven Mill’s shop in Burlington, from their website, and in stores nationwide.

Another exciting development for Fairhaven Mill is their involvement in World Flour Day on March 20. For every five pounds of flour purchased March 20–26, Fairhaven Mill donated one pound of their organic all-purpose flour to Helping Hands Food Bank. According to Fairhaven Mill Owner Rachel Sparwasser, “Flour feeds families in so many different ways. It’s the staple behind the bread on the table, the biscuits on Sunday morning, the tortillas in a school lunch.”

This campaign ended up with 355 pounds of flour being donated to the food bank, where it was broken down into smaller portions. This allowed over 300 food bank visitors access to a product that is not normally stocked in the food banks.
