Love letting your little four legged friend off leash? With the weather getting nicer and the days getting longer, it’s nice to know where you can go to get a little exercise but also let your pooch get some energy out and socialization. Here is your guide to knowing the locations and regulations of Bellingham off-leash dog parks!

Off Leash Dog Parks in Bellingham:

  • Lake Padden Park: fenced off-least area. Off-leash trails are designated at the east end of the Park.
  • Sunset Pond: All trails and water are designated for off-lease exercise
  • Sehome Hill Arboretum: All secondary trails (anything that isn’t paved, the Jersey street and Arbortum Walkway) allows for off-leash exercise.
  • Bloedel Donovan Park: From 6 in the morning to 10 in the morning all year round the park is open to off-leash play.
  • Whatcom Falls Park: The waterline trail and the trail from Waterlife to Lakeway are designated as off-leash
  • Little Squalicum Park: All Trails are off-leash
  • Post Point Treatment Area: The field and trails adjacent to the treatment facility are open for dog training & exercise

General Rules regarding Off Leash Dog Parks:

  • Owners must control their dog by leash is conflict exists
  • Owner must respect areas by staying on trails preventing dogs from disturbing wildlife
  • Owner must restrict dogs in heat from off-leash areas
  • Owner must restrict dogs that show aggressive behavior from off-leash areas
