In early June, Lydia Place hosted their 14th annual Handbags for Housing event, complete with a lively fashion show emceed by Shannon Day, the “bag whisperer.”
Fishermen’s Pavilion was decked to the nines with bright, colorful floral decorations and balloons reminiscent of Alice in Wonderland. Attendees wore sparkles, bold colors, floral prints, high heels, giant flower hair clips, and flowy floor-length dresses. There were well-curated baskets donated by local businesses for a silent auction, raffles, six local vendors, a handbag bazaar, and more!
Over 250 people came, and thanks to the generosity and support of the community, Lydia Place raised over $100,000. This money is going toward families in need in Whatcom County, and Lydia Place is hosting their first teen summer camp this summer!
