This holiday season, show your friends, family, and local businesses some love with a “Think Local First” gift card. Brought to you by Sustainable Connections, Whatcom County Chambers of Commerce, Downtown Bellingham Partnership, and more, these gift cards aim to encourage local shopping this holiday season.
“The Whatcom Think Local First Gift Cards are a great way to support local businesses and recirculate money back into our economy, “ says Sustainable Connections Communications Manager Amy Vergillo. “By purchasing a gift card and spending it at any participating local business, you are choosing to support the community we all love.”
Cards are available electronically (you can print a paper version if you prefer) and can be used at nearly 150 local businesses, from boutiques to restaurants to fitness centers and more. Spend it all at your favorite business or split it between multiple locations. You can find a list of participating businesses here.
For a limited time, gift card purchases come with bonus cards. Buy a $25 gift card and get a $10 bonus card, buy a $50 card and get a $20 bonus card, and buy a $100 card and get a $40 bonus card. All bonus cards expire after December 31, 2020, to encourage local holiday shopping, and are only available while supplies last. If sending as a gift, you can add a personal message to be delivered with the card.
You can also use your card to give the gift of Bellingham Alive. From now until December 31, use a $25 gift card for not one but two annual subscriptions to Bellingham Alive! Magazine. Get one for yourself and send another as a gift. Click here to subscribe.
