Documentarian and political artist, Ted Gibson’s (1944–2024) collection of histories of “ordinary people,” are being presented together for the first time at Dakota Art Gallery! Revealing Gibson’s lifetime of creative passion and profound insights, this retrospective exhibit includes 40 archival photographs showing the magic found on the highway, in quiet places and at special events, along with several series of works, most notably his Children’s Lunchboxes and a collection of drawings with apropos quotations called Dick and Jane in Retrospect which juxtapose trite Americana with scenes from the dark side of American Capitalism.
