Chester-Kidder is one of my favorite red blends with plenty to say, but it knows how to keep the conversation interesting. Crafted by Long Shadows Founding Winemaker Gilles Nicault, this Columbia Valley wine brings together Cabernet Sauvignon, Syrah, and classic Bordeaux varieties for a rich, layered pour. Aromas of dark berries, black currant, cocoa, and a touch of earth set the stage, followed by flavors of blackberry, cassis, and dark chocolate. Firm but polished tannins give the wine structure, while a silky texture keeps it from feeling overly heavy. There’s also a subtle savory quality that adds another layer to the experience.

When it comes to food, this is a wine that wants something substantial on the plate. Pour it alongside grilled steak, braised short ribs, or a hearty mushroom dish. It also pairs beautifully with roasted lamb, blue cheese, or a burger topped with caramelized onions.

Rich, complex, and wonderfully food-friendly, Chester-Kidder brings plenty of personality to the table without stealing the spotlight.
