Traditional Scottish Dancing Performances | Scottish Dishes | Drink Specials
Raise a glass to a toast to Robbie Burns Day! Join us on January 25th for a spirited celebration of Scotland’s beloved poet, Robert Burns, inside Amendment 21! Embrace the rich Scottish heritage with an evening of fine Scotch specials and delectable Scottish-inspired dishes that will transport you straight to the heart of the Highlands.
The first Burns Night was held in 1801 by his close friends. They gathered on his birthday, five years after he passed, to remember and celebrate his life. They spent the evening enjoying a tasty meal, great scotch, and performed some of Robbie’s work. It was such a hit that a tradition was born, and we are still celebrating 223 years later!
Performances by The Scottish Dance Society will take place throughout the event.
For fifty years, the school has trained dancers in competitive and performance Scottish Highland Dance in Bellingham. The dancers are frequent performers at regional festivals and events. Students compete throughout the year and are regular performers at the summer Highland Games. The dancing is historically significant and energetic, athletic and graceful, and includes traditional dances like the Highland Fling and Sword Dance performed in traditional kilts to bagpipe music.
