Learn About Historic Weather Events in Washington at the Floyd in Stanwood

Broadcaster, filmmaker, lecturer, and historian Feliks Banel will present his talk “Storm Warning – Historic Weather in the Evergreen State” Sunday March 8th at the Floyd Norgaard Cultural Center in Stanwood. The event which begins at 1 p.m., is free to the public but donations are welcome. The program is the first of a series of afternoon discussions held throughout the year in partnership with the Stanwood Library. Cookies and coffee will be served.
Mr. Banel is with the Humanities Washington speakers bureau. Based in Seattle, Banel was deputy director of the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) from 1999 to 2006, and remains associated with MOHAI through a number of local history and archival projects. He is a historian for KIRO Radio, and is editor of “Columbia,” the quarterly magazine of the Washington State Historical Society.
