Carbon is integral to every aspect of life on earth, yet its increasing presence in our atmosphere is driving unprecedented climate change, contributing to more areas burned by wildfires. Artist Suze Woolf began painting large portraits of individual burned trees in 2008 as she noticed increasing burned-over areas in her favorite wildernesses. Dr. David L. Peterson has studied climate change, fire, and ecological disturbances over a long research career. Together they will show how their respective disciplines create a more holistic perspective on the effects of climate on forest ecosystems.
