We can all agree that 2020 has been a wild ride. However, one thing remains certain: in these challenging times, our community has come together like never before. The local love was more than apparent in this year’s Best of the Northwest competition. This year, we had 67,555 entries with more than 850,000 individual votes. Compare that to last year, when we had roughly 617,000 individual votes, and you can see that you, our readers, showed up like never before.
For 11 years we’ve delivered our Best of the Northwest winners in the same way — a straightforward list of gold, silver, and bronze recipients, with a small write-up about each gold winner. This year, to spice things up, we’ve included a slew of unique editor’s picks alongside our usual readers’ choice awards. These write-ups shine a light on attractions that don’t fall into a vote-worthy category but nevertheless make our area unique — like “Creepiest Restaurant Bathroom” and “Best Walks to Get Your 10,000 Steps.” Our hope is that, in addition to celebrating this year’s winners, you also discover something new and exciting to love about the North Sound.
