SUMMARY:Rendered Mosiacs – Creating a Picture with Glass on Glass
DESCRIPTION:This specific form of mosaic work allows students to take a photo or other image and recreate it using tiny bits of glass that will be glued onto glass. The final piece may or may not need to be grouted in the final stage\, depending on the student’s choice. Students will learn how to cut\, nip and shape glass to render their image with some artistic flair. Design choice is key\, so images must be approved by the instructor. Grouting technique will be taught regardless of whether it is required in the final product. All glass\, grout and tools will be provided by instructor.\nClass Fee: $160\nAges: Adults 16+\nRegistration Deadline: 4/07 12 PM\nMaterials to Bring: Wooden frame with picture glass no larger than 11×14\, small bottle of Weld bond glue or similar\, small plastic containers or Ziploc baggies to hold glass bits\, fine tweezers and fine tip paintbrush can be helpful. DESCRIPTION:A fun spring outing for families\, couples and singles of all ages will be offered April 19-20 during Easter at the Farm at Whatcom County’s Bellewood Farms & Distillery. \nPhoto opportunities with the Easter Bunny – great for sharing with family and friends – will be offered from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday\, April 19\, and Sunday\, April 20. Egg hunts are scheduled every half-hour from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. with prize bags at the end for $7 per child. Both days also will include live music by Lynden-based Queen’s Bluegrass from 10:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. \nThe public is invited to stroll through Bellewood’s apple orchards for free with a possible bonus that blossoms may appear by then. Tractor train rides through the orchards are available for $5 per person. \nBellewood Farms is located at 6140 Guide Meridian\, within seven miles of Bellingham\, Ferndale and Lynden. \n“Our view of snow-capped Mt. Baker rising above the apple orchards makes one appreciate how blessed we are to live here\,” said Eric Abel\, president of Bellewood Farms. \nThe Ten Mile Café will offer its full menu\, plus made-from-scratch apple cider donuts.
