SUMMARY:Roaring 20s Absinthe Party
DESCRIPTION:An Evening in the Jazz Age \nThe year is 1926. The lights are low\, the band is hot\, and the night is just beginning… \nJoin us in our historic grand ballroom for an unforgettable celebration inspired by the glamour\, mischief\, and magnetic energy of the Roaring Twenties. Your evening opens with a complimentary absinthe welcome cocktail\, followed by an elegant spread of chef-curated hors d’oeuvres. \nA live band will set the mood with the irresistible sounds of the era – whether you prefer to sway from a distance or take to the dance floor. A tarot reader will be on hand to reveal what fortunes the night may hold\, and our vintage photo booth will capture proof that you were there when the champagne sparkled and the music played on. \nA full cocktail menu\, including a traditional absinthe ritual\, will be available for purchase\, along with beer\, wine\, and thoughtfully crafted non-alcoholic options. \nAttire inspired by the 1920s is warmly encouraged – sequins\, suspenders\, silk gloves\, sharp tailoring\, and all. \nRaise a glass. Lose track of time. Let the evening unfold. \nSpace is limited – secure your spot early!

SUMMARY:M Factor 2.0 Documentary Premiere Screening and Live Discussion And Q&A
DESCRIPTION:The Casperson Clinic is proud to present a special screening of The M Factor 2.0: Before the Pause\, a powerful documentary that shines a light on the often-ignored realities of perimenopause and the years leading up to menopause. This film continues the conversation by exploring the physical\, emotional\, and societal impacts of hormonal change — long before women are typically told to expect it — and challenges the silence\, misinformation\, and dismissal that so many experience in midlife healthcare. Following the screening\, attendees are invited to stay for a live perimenopause discussion led by The Casperson Clinic. This interactive conversation will dive deeper into symptoms\, treatment options\, and what evidence-based care can look like during this transition. The goal is simple: education over fear\, clarity over confusion\, and empowering women with the knowledge they deserve — before the pause\, not after.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Forest Scorpion Preservation with Mickey Alice Kwapis
DESCRIPTION:https://www.whatcommuseum.org/event/introduction-to-bug-pinning-stunning-scorpions/ \nLearn how to spread and dry your own forest scorpion specimen to keep. Using a rehydrated specimen ready to spread\, each student will be guided through the process of flexing\, posing\, pinning\, and drying their own scorpion specimen. This incredible arachnid is native to Thailand and uses its pincers more than its tail to inflict damage to its prey. You will leave with your finished pinned specimen ready to dry at home as well as a spreading board and tool set to keep for use with future projects. The week following the workshop\, students will receive an email containing a digital guide to the entire spreading process\, from a dried or freshly deceased specimen to completion. \nNo experience necessary; ages 12 and younger must be accompanied by a calm adult who can assist where needed. One specimen and tool set are provided per ticket purchased\, so if the adult wishes to participate with their own specimen set\, an additional ticket should be purchased. \nClass registration fees include admission to the Whatcom Museum\, one specimen and tool kit\, and supplementary reading materials to learn how to repeat the process with more specimens at home. \nMickey will also be teaching a sunset moth specimen preservation workshop on March 14.
