SUMMARY:Opening Reception: Mary Jo Maute and Denise Snyder Show at Dakota Art Gallery
DESCRIPTION:Two adventurously creative Whatcom County artists\, Denise Snyder and Mary Jo Maute share the Dakota Art Gallery from September 6–29\, 2019. Snyder\, a sculptor and Maute\, a painter share similar approaches to art\, as well as a love for vivid color\, flowing movement\, and natural forms. \nMaute is an improvisational painter. Floating luminous plant\, animal\, and figurative compositions convey memories\, the passage of time\, and life’s interconnectedness. For Snyder’s sculptures\, peeled branches and metal are the structure. Delicate translucent papers and other fibers woven into the pieces emphasize the harmony\, strength\, and fragility of the natural world. \nThe exhibit can be seen at the Gallery through September 29th. The gallery is free and open daily 9:00 AM–6:00 PM and Sunday: 12:00 PM–5:00 PM

SUMMARY:Aura Photos by Charles Crooks
DESCRIPTION:What do you radiate? \nFind out all about the energy that surrounds your body by getting your aura photographed with intuitive energy coach\, Charles Crooks. \nWhy should you even care about your aura?\nEvery day\, with every activity we do\, and every person we come in contact with\, our energy changes. Depending which color shows in which position\, the image then can be interpreted to give you insight into your energetic self in that moment. \nThe details!\nSaturday\, September 14 11:00-5:00pm at Wise Awakening\, downtown Bellingham. 314 E Holly St. #101 $35 for a 10 minute session.\nYou get:\nA 4×6 printed photo\, an interpretation of your energy by Charles\, a personalized affirmation based on your photo\, and a 14 page generated PDF report email to you.
