Earth Day is just around the corner, and has been an annual event that was first celebrated in 1970.  On April 21, there will be earth day celebrations in more than 193 countries across the world. From parades to outdoor concerts, here are five events in the Pacific Northwest that can help you celebrate!

1. Hoppy Earth Day Brew-fest

Celebrate Earth Day with a 5k run and brew-fest, which will be featuring some of Oregon’s best breweries.  The run will start at Portland Brewing at 12:00 p.m. Everyone is invited to enjoy the great food, beer, and live music after the race. Advance tickets are $15.00 and will be $20.00 at the door.  The ticket will include commemorative tasting glass and beer samples from the participating breweries.

2. Pints and Public Lands Film Fest

Come join Washington Wild & The Wilderness Society at Peddler Brewing for Film Festival about public lands. The viewing area will take place in the covered beer garden on Earth Day. Public lands are places we go to get in touch with nature and are critical for wildlife habitat.  Through a series of seven short films, they will be exploring public lands and the benefits they bring to Americans.

3. Earth Day 2018 at Mount Bachelor

Come celebrate Earth Day at Mt. Bachelor and learn about the outdoor industries most sustainable companies. The event will have demos from various ski and snowboard companies, and games put on by Hydro Flask.  Additionally, there will be live music on the outdoor stage at the base of the ski area. There will be a raffle and all proceeds will be going to POW (Protect Our Winters). This is Mt. Bachelor’s first ever zero-waste event so come join the fun.

  4. Wildlife Festival at Discovery Park

Join Seattle Park and Recreation, and more than 20 other organizations for a free kid friendly activities. There will be wildlife hikes, bird watching, Ranger Rick magazines, crafts, and much more for children to celebrate earth day. Public transportation is encouraged, there will be a free shuttle bus that will loop to the north and east parking lots at the park.

5. Earth Day Fishery Celebration

Come and participate in Earth Day with Skagit Fisheries Enhancement Group. The event will focus on improving a trail in Edgewater Park that will help with accessibility for Mount Vernon residents. There will be educational booths, a food truck, and a native plant walk. This event is free and for the whole family.
